SXR Wet pipe installed...is my water routing right?

I recently installed a wet pipe and TBM head. Ski starts up and idles fine, revs fine...I know there are many ways to route the water lines but is this acceptable for a single cooled setup?

In from pump to bottom of manifold.

Bottom of head pipe to pump area rear bypass.

Flush hose connected to head connection and then head connection to top of factory head pipe.

Second head connection splits to a tee, one end of tee to stinger with a flow valve inline, and the other end of tee to side bypass.

Thanks for the advice.

If you don't have dual cooling, how are feeding the headpipe? And you should have outlets on both sides of the head for more even cylinder temp.

Hi Swanny,

I thought I was feeding the head pipe from the top and exiting it out the bottom. I thought have seen it both ways but I went off this pic from a guy selling his ski on the PWC UK forum...

I asked the seller of my TBM head about the outlets being on the one side because I thought the same thing you mentioned...here is his reply:

"The reason we run the cooling lines off the front of the carb side of the cylinder instead of one from the fron and one from the rear is because we want the entire cylinder to fill up with water before it dumps overboard as if you sometimes run one off the rear the listing of the ski and just the inertia of the watercraft tends to fill the rear cylinder up first and front cylinder last. This way water has to compoletely fill the furthest point of the cylinder of both the cylinders and that way they cool evenly."

I believe he races SXR's down in Florida and is a long time X member so I trust he knows his stuff.

Do I need to reverse the cooling to the head pipe and have it run from the head to the bottom of the head pipe and out the top?

Yea, your'e right. I'm just used to dual cooling. Here's a pic of my old Kawi setup. pump into manifold, pump into bottom of headpipe, both outlets on head to pissers, and outlet on top of headpipe to tee for stinger with flow control valve and to third pisser. dual cooling is really easy on the kawi, just have to remove pump drill and tap for fitting Picture 118.jpg
