300/440/550 west coast pipe question

I installed a westcoast pipe on my '92 X2 onto the stock manifold. The engine is stock also with good compression. It ran great with the stock pipe but seemed to lose alot of the bottom end power with the westcoast and just a nominal increase in top end. Any suggestions as to why??

well first off, is the pipe the full length? or can you tell how many rings have been cut off of it. also i would think you would at least adjust the air/fuel mixture. something else you might consider, you can block off that water line to the stinger, it will dry the pipe out and give a bit better performance.

You should see a dramatic improvement. That was the first mod I did to my first X2. When I first changed mine out I remember it was like night and day. Throttle response and overall power should be a noticeable change over stock. Definetely make sure no one has cut the sections off the exhaust cone for a custom tune set up and check your water routing.

It's been a while since I've had a 650 motor in one but I don't recall having to rejet for just a pipe. What carb do you have on it? you should have the stock 38mm that came with the 92 you'll never get any power out of the old style 28mm no matter what you bolt on. Make sure your running at least a 38mm

I am running a 38 on it. I have rechecked the water routing and I think that is where my problem is. Retest this weekend and I will repost. Thanks for the help.
