Old, but still ridin'!!!
This weekend was a f&%*ing blast. Just got home a few hours ago.

Lots and lots of great riders and great people. It was also great to finally meet all of the OSide crew and get to hang out with everyone. BIG thanks to Lisa for everything and for making us Colorado boys feel right at home. Huge props to Joe Kenney for a great event. A lot of people were exposed to our sport this weekend, in a very positive way. Lisa, Joe, Evan, etc., did a hell of a lot of work to pull this off and without their efforts, that wouldn't have happened. Also big thanks to all of the riders that came from abroad to compete. It was great to get the opportunity to see you all ride.

And of course huge props to Mike Serlin, amazing riding this weekend.

P.S. "Havel Inverts" are NOT fun, especially when they're unintentional.

After the 28 hour drive there... put the ski in the water and ran fine for 10 minutes and died, couldnt get it running for 2 days.. cleaned carbs, replaced stator... all to find out my gas (2 weeks old) was growing algae and clogged my fuel filter. So I only got 1 decent ride in allll 4 days I was there which sucked bad. The waves were crazy, never ridden in stuff so big before and it honestly scared the $hit out of me.

I'm a pretty quiet person, so I don't get go around starting conversations usually... but there were some great people there this weekend... the entire O'Side Crew were really cool and also the Colorado folks, everyone was extremely helpful with my ski.

The competition, was insane... I watched Serlin ride pre-competition and was amazed, I didn't know he went that big and was that smooth. I was rooting for him since watching him pull the double on Friday. However, my only complaint about the comp. is when Serlin went againt Pierre Maxient in the Semis. I thought it could have been considered the Final the way both were riding, Pierre was soo smooth and never lost his boat.. he pulled a 1ft/1hand backy and 3 barrel roll re-entrys... Serlin pulled the only double barrel in the comp. in that round which I guess gave him the win, but I thought the overall routine that Pierre put up was better. It could be argued either way, so dont flame me on it.

The Final round was judged correctly in my eyes, for anyone that thought there might be biased opinions on JKenney being 'favored'.

Talking to a couple of the judges.....it was neck and neck. Mike's double gave him the edge he needed.
Thats what I thought. I wish the Final had better waves for the riders. I think Serlin could have done better, he always seemed to be on the wrong side of the beach when the sets came in.

He was definitely the biggest surprise in my mind though, never knew he was that good. Hope some of the companies noticed and gives him a decent sponsorship out of this weekend, he deserves a huge congrats.

Hola boys - just rolled in from Pismo at 5:30 this morning (Tuesday)....SO glad you all had fun and enjoyed the tasty waves/music/riding/food/and movies....and craziness. I'm whipped. I can only imagine how Joe is feeling right about now.

So much to talk about, but I have work piled up here at my day job so I'll have to get on the write up later. Just wanted to thank everyone for coming from far and wide and making the effort. I followed-up with our sponsors to see what their impression of the event was. Let me just say I'm more than elated with their impressions and I think we're on to something big here. Stay tuned.

Also want to apologize for not being able to spend more time with all of you...I was pulled in about 58 directions - all at once - AND had to cover announcing at the last minute, so I was a little out of it. And if it makes you feel any better, I *never* got to even put my ski in the water, much less ride I was so slammed. This means another ride in the very near future is in order there. But it was so well worth it.

I'm back too and don't have much time right now...more later. GREAT trip, nice to meet some new folks, the comp was great as was the dune race. No Glory hood trick photos, sorry. Big up to Lisa for the great job announcing on Sunday. Also good to meet Top Sirloin and watch the show, that boy can ride!

I just got home six hours ago and I've already nailed the wife twice and gone to work :Banane01: :Banane37:

Pismo was off the hook. Serlin's double-barrell was the highlight, IMO. It dropped a lot of jaws, but Pierre was rocking it flawlessly on a back-up-to-the-back-up ski. He went so huge, it would be scary to see him on his own ski. JKenney won it all hands down though.

I wish there was more time for peeps free-riding, though. The fog sucked!!

Awesome weekend, nice to see all the socal guys again. Big thanks to Joe for putting on a great event.

I was the reason for Pierre's backup backup ski, didn't think I was going to be competing this weekend. Kinda hard to hold onto a ski with a broken hand. FYI not a good idea, it just makes things more broken.

Hey man, it was only foggy Sunday morning.the rest of the weekend, including Friday was AMAZING!
