so where does every one put the registration numbers on these things? on the hood? where the tray is?

local law here is on the front half of the boat. This is for Va anyways. If you put it below the bondline it would not be clearly visible and you could get a ticket.

I was told by a state cop last year in Ocean City that they would like to see them on the pole.

Im in Jersey and the only option I see is on the hood or just below the hood and above the bond line. I know it sucks but it will pay off to not have to worry about being harrassed for not being legal. When I got my FX1 last year I put the numbers buy the tray because it seemed like the best place. Well long story short I was told by the coast guard to change them to the front of the ski and not to let them see me riding again with them in the back.

I also just picked up a ski (Thanks Whtbread )and the numbers are on the pole . Just today I passed a cop in a no wake zone and when the pole is down you cant see the numbers, of course I kept my fingers crossed with no fire extinguisher onboard luckily he didnt see me but I will probably change them because I just want to have fun on the water and not deal with ********.

So my advice is put them where they should be and enjoy riding the thing:woot: Good luck with the new ski.

thanks, the old numbers were on the top of the hood. my old ski had the numbers on the back by the tray, never had any problems but never really went any where where cops are around.

i have to see what i can come up with from the viynal shop.

haha, my dad made that trailer about 25+ years ago, made it for a 16ft boat he had, then he sold the boat and made it a box trailer. that thing is a tank i don't think it will ever die. woulda put it on the truck but he had to use it for a few days and didn't/couldn't have the ski in the back. i have a double ski trailer at home.

in fl, you can put them any removable part of the ski (pole or hood in our case). they have to be at the fore section of the ski and above the bondrail.

i have mine on the pole.
