i have a stripped hull at home right now, but no scale :(

Can you find a scale somewhere? That would be great info to know.

I posted this question on pwctoday.com and never really got an answer. I figure the complete stock FX-1 is 25 pounds lighter than the Superjet... the FX-1 hood is about 7 pounds lighter, the pump is probably 2 pounds lighter, and most everything else is about the same. So I figured the hull itself is about 15 pounds lighter, making it 85-95 pounds.

Just my guess. Most FX-1's have water in their foam.

If you just bought an FX-1, you'll want to reinforce under the handpole area. They're notoriously weak around there.
I actually like what Queensford Jetski did with their pole. I sent an email to ask for details. I'm going to enjoy it as is for a few months first before taking it apart though.

reinforcing this weekend most likely.....got some HEAVY woven woven for the sides and under the pole....

ill see if I can track down a scale...the ski is totally stripped with not even a bracket on it right now...

That's what we really want to know

I don't think the Queenford FX-1 had anything done to the bracket area other than reinforcing it from the inside (and filling in the sides where the purple plastic piece was). They used a really sweet lowered bracket and handpole though.

ok....found a scale:

Fx-1 completely stripped (except pump shoe), BEFORE reinforcing was 93.1 lbs

we also weighed my buddies 98 roundie project ski thats going to get the 2nd h20-x conversion kit...120 even WITH reinforcement + footholds and new foam (4lb), with the hood kit and nosepiece 145.2.....

Nice work! Are there footholds in it? Ever been refoamed? There's probably some water in it, but that's right about what I was expecting.

Can you weigh the hood too?

no footholds, dont think its ever been refoamed....

this ski has been drydocked for at least 2-3 years.........wet foam is a possibility, but im not redoin' it so I hope its dry.....

working on a custom rear hold and front strap for this ski.......hopefully will get reinforcing and at least the cutout for the hold this weekend :woot:

tanslation> im too cheap to use the wammer holds that i have on this ski:haha:

The Queensford FX-1 now stays with me.
The motor ROCKS, But the hull i think is finding it hard to cope with the extra power.

Then again it could be me. I`m finding the FX very unstable.

Were they known for being twitchy.

I have only been out on it 3 times, And i am swimming more than normal.

I think the fact that it is less stable is even better for freeride, or at least freestyle. That's a nice looking ski. Is the fiberglass work holding up under the stresses of the motor and the landings? How about the pole area? Can you post some pics of the nose and pole area of that (maybe start another thread, or PM me). Thanks.

So far so good, No problems.
Maybe unstable is not the right word. I find the ski tracks every wave or wake it passes over, It wants to go one way and i want to go another.

Having never been on an FX before, Just wanted to know if this was the way of the FX or a result of the larger pump and plate.

I will send you some close ups of the ski when i figure out how to do it.
( just joined tonight)

Would tubbie`s make a differance...?
