Wear Ring/Stator Alignment

The alignment pins on my wear ring and stator section don't line up. They are around the same bolt hole, but on opposite sides of the bolt hole. Can I grind the pins off? I pieced together the pump so I don't know the years of everything but I believe the sttor section is from an early year squarenose.

Just realized that I posted this in the general section and it should probably be in the Driveline section. Sorry mods.

Post some pics. Are you sure the wear ring isn't 180 degrees off?

I've pieced together a couple and never ran into mismatched pin alignment. But you can usually pull those out if you have too... Make sure you use some kind of rtv sealant all around where the two sections meet.

Thanks. I think the problem is that I took 2 minutes to look at it at 6am in the morning while walking through the garage to go to work. When I get home I'll try again and post pics if it's screwed up.
