It was a good test day and we all failed....communication was bad...and waves were big! One rider went back to ramps without really making sure we knew...Zack no helmet...and I didn't realize he was telling me he was hurt...he flagged me back to the beach....so I followed....rode him right up to beach and he looked fine (no blood yet!) so slashed right and threw my body over the pole and headed to the next face!

I came back like 5 minutes later and then realized....

I did something similar a couple weeks ago...I was finally landing back flips pretty consistently and I had never even came close to hitting my head while riding. The liner was starting to come out of my helmet and go in my eyes and it was bugging me so I quit wearing my helmet. All was fine for a couple days, but on the third day I had done some tuning and got more power out of my motor. I went bigger than normal and over rotated causing the nose to come up and I also fell forward and I hit my mouth on the handle pole base. I thought I had lost teeth for sure, but I still rode it out, lol. I went straight in to shore and loaded up my ski, trying not to cover everything in blood because my mouth was leaking profusely. Turned out I cut open the inside of my lips in 3 spots, I'm lucky that's all that happened and I went back to wearing a helmet all the time.

up till recently ive been riding the past season with no chinpad (apparently RN pads are hard to find). the helmet does help me to not fear the ski, water or pole.

Twice I have used a shop rag under my ballcap to control the bleeding while someone drove me to the hospital, zachl has a big gash (kinda like my last gf!) sorry, had to.

Oddly the blood stayed in the gaping gash.

Funny...he had just tuned too and said his ski was rippin! He was playing with some new found power too....

It was them rock people, bah those waves were massive but garbage over there. Much prefer the smooth ones by the buoys. I still cannot even tell my head is open unless I feel for the staples lol
