We need a trim tube install in the TECH FAQ

I've got my tray cut out and I'm installing a trim tube now, while it is easy to do. I need to know where to put it. I saw a good pic of this a while back but now I cant find it. If I'm going to bother to do it I want to do it right. I don't have a trim system yet and I don't know what I will get when I do. I'm not planning on getting one until next winter or so.

We don't have anything in the TECH FAQ on this, but we should. Anybody got some good pics and/or measurements on where I should put it?

About 1-1/2" directly above the stock siphon bilge line at the rear and 1" above the line in front would be a good spot.

I used 3/8" stainless tube with a .030" wall thickness.

I just did this using PVC tubing. I drilled a hole where i wanted it go in , then where i wanted it to come out and sealed around both ends. View attachment 44301View attachment 44302

Exactly how and where I put mine and I also used 1/2" pvc. I sealed both ends w/epoxy and then used 3m 5200 over the epoxy. When I drilled hull my foam was REAL dry, so I thought it would be a good idea to keep it that way.LOL

I have had it in the water a couple of times so far, no leaks, doing good for now.

Mark44 has some pics on an old thread of a waterproof fitting, like the factory one for the steering cable.

Thanks for the pics Yankeeboy, that is exactly what I needed.
