me and a few mates went to the gold coast queensland over easter and i had wax put one of his inferno ignitions in my ski all i can say is that if you are thinking of going with an aftermarket ignition do it!
i cant explain how much it wakes up your ski from a stock cdi we went to the water to test it with 30 deg of timing off the bottom and after dialing it in we put 34 deg in just the difference that 4 deg made was awsome not to mention the difference it made before that i dont know about any of the other ignitions on the market but i am more than impressed with the inferno

waxs inferno is not total loss so i dont think it would have the snap you get from total loss but it seals in the standard elec box so no salt dramas
butfor me the timing advance sure woke it up down low its got heaps for the surf and i am sure with the right motor combo would be awsome in the flat

I ran the was ignition for a few days but I would have trouble with the ski starting after riding it. I wouldent get any spark until it cooled down. I guess mine was a lemon.
