Waterproofing your E box...

Dudes , opened up my e box , after my ski decided to stop dead in the water. 20% full of water , lake water.... Whats the secret to sealing up these puppies good n`tight , really tight..??? The old girl thinks she`s a miget-sub , likes going under a lot... (I have twin bilge pumps fitted) The fuse is fine so everything else in there is more than lightly shagged.....! Thanks.

I had the same problem last year because I was to cheap to buy a new ebox gasket. This year I spent money on brand new electronics, so I got the gasket and then did a small amount of silicone on the gasket surfaces. Burned 4 tanks this year and everything has been good so far

^^^ correct-a-mundo. New gasket and either light silicone on liberal use of dielectric grease. Make sure grommets are all good too.

I use a new gasket and a liberal amount of dielectric grease on the gasket and grommets before closing it up. Also put some where the wires come through the grommets, especially on the top since water can sit on the top of the battery cables and go into the box.
Also put grease on the fuse cap gasket. A few silica packets won't hurt either.
