It seems like a lot of the great builders like to do things by themselves. Some people are so meticulous and dedicated to their work that they don't like to have someone else do it for them. They like to make sure it is done by them so they know it is done right. Obviously not the best business decision though.

Does Steve at WF have many people working for him? When I met him and saw his shop he definitely seemed like the type of person who was very meticulous with his work and really spent time on the attention to detail.

Danny and i went out there to check out his ski being built and he let us plumb out the ski, but if you can lay fiber glass in a mold that is already made
he can train people so he can pump out more work. It is just him, his cnc guy and two other workers.

I have never dealt with Jeff directly, but his products (that I have seen) are really top notch. I (as well as all of us I think) have heard of Jeffs past with mailing things out. However, lately there have been several threads praising his work and reliablility. Daytona is a big event and Jeff I'm sure has been busy getting ready. No excuse for bad service, however, I would give him a week before getting to upset.
Good luck.

edit: I did not see that this was in the neg section. If that is your experience different perspectives will not change it so I'll just leave it alone.

I guess to offset this post I should make a thread in the "Positive" section for every item Jeff has sent me or other members here ahead of schedule. I know my items got to me sooner than expected.

I'm sure Jeff will straighten it all out with you as soon as he gets done with Daytona. He's not just going there for fun, you know.

give the guy a chance to defend himself after daytona . i know its not right but i sure most people have good intentions . it so easy to be a critic hire good people .there not always out there and with so many ups and downs in this business you really have to watch where you spend your money . hopefully you get your hood and soon . good luck see you in daytona .

I stopped by Waterdawg Kustomz on the 30th to pick up a Diablo hood, nose and bracket for the superjet. Jeff was a really nice guy and was there late painting a customers boat. When I got back to Cali I found the hood liner would not fit my dry pipe. After talking to Jeff on the 1st he said no problem and would make a dry pipe hood and have it out by Wednesday the 3rd.
So I called again on the 6th Saturday and asked what's up with the hood. He said the hood is done and will be out on Monday the 8th. I call yesterday the 10th to get a tracking # and he said he wasn't at the shop that he would call me with it later. Well, after 6pm I decided to call him back because I had not heard from him. All I got was a full voice mail. Called today the 11th, voice mail again. What's up with this guy, heard he is flaky?

I just bought several things from Jeff. He got the products to me as promised and even took the time to write a long email with exact installation instructions. Not saying what happened is right or wrong but being in business for yourself is not an easy task and with top quality products such as the ones I recieved I am sure that he is busy. I always contacted him through e-mail and he has replied in a reasonable time. I would also give him a chance to defend himself. My 2 cents.

I got some footholds from Jeff and he went out of his way to make me a happy customer. :arms:
I think his stuff is great, but he is very busy and overworked. :banghead:

Be patient or buy stuff that is not as good elsewhere.

I am psyched with the way my REV footholds are working out!:Banane01: :Banane01:

He's really flaky when it comes to shippign parts. He said he'd have my hull out before he left for Daytona

I would have to agree with Mile9c1 on the shipping out parts. Flaky is the word. I am sitll waiting on parts and the last time I talked to him he said mine would be shipped before Daytona. You will get it sooner or later.

I guess this is kinda like how Blowsion was around WF about a part that was sold and took forever to get straigtened out.......... reason......... Havasu, they were too busy and out of town........... Guess how many people were on the beach in Daytona on saturday........... over 200 ski's....... guess where Jeff was?

Is it an excuse, no, but it equal to the excuse that Blowsion was giving also.

Its one thing to be out of town. Its another to lie to customers about when parts were shipped. Read the post above. Same story over and over with this guy.

If you base it off his past from 3 years ago up to October 2006 then yes.... But, from October to current Jeff has made a 180 turn.. He has been shipping out parts right and left. I know of two guys that ordered hoods and both got them in about 1-2 weeks after order was placed, plus numerous footholds. One kid ordered an XJet hull in November, If I am not mistaken it was delivered to him in Daytona... And the kid that posted the first here did recieve his hood. but it would not clear his dry pipe....... that is normal, hell, with a stock hood you have to cut some of them or heat up the plastic liner and indent it to clear the top of the pipe. Did this guy tell Jeff "hey, I am running a dry pipe?" (Cant remember that part of the post). Who knows.. Honestly, I wish everytime someone had a problem with Blowsion, 24/7, Wamiltons, Watercraft Factory or XFT that they woudl come here and post. I think you would be suprised at how many mistakes are made.
