Could it be that he hates debt and loves Dave Ramsey?

I have a hunch he's getting tired of charge backs, especially over several thousands of dollars.

Right, Roo?

Could be their merchant account got closed, or got tired of people doing chargebacks, or whatever, Waterdawg would have to answer that and he rarely posts anymore.

I'm guessing chargebacks. With a tight economy, people may be getting buyer's remorse and simply disputing the charges.

The fees vary depending on the service providers. Amex seems to be the highest. That 6% is quite common with them. Some will double that if the card is keyed manually without address verification. Hmm, $12000 x 12% = $1440 Ouch!

My whole ordeal with them was about a half year ago...

I have to admit, I look at his site quite often still and just noticed recently about the no CC thing. I'm sure my situation didn't help matters... or did it?

Don't read to much into this. We are changing the merchant account from an independent provider, which is actually three transactions, to direct merchant with the bank we deal with. This will be much easier and less paperwork. You can still order by calling the shop, we have a few options for payment.

Communication and quickness have never been one of WDK's strong points.
