SXR Water in Cylinders.

I have a SXR and I landed poorly on a barrel roll, causing it to land upside down and remain running. It sucked in a good amount of water and some got into my cylinders. I flipped my ski upside down at home and started it repeatedly (while spraying it with WD 40) to get the water out, and a couple ounces of water came out. Do I need to take my cylinders off, so I can peek into my crank case for more moisture or water? I need to to know if it's necessary ASAP, because I'm worried about my engine!

Thanks!!

nope. just keep trying to get water out, once its out get it running asap. you really need to ride it for like 15 min to get the motor hot. any moisture will be gone at that point.

if you cant get it running, i will get my ski running with just one plug in to blast out what little water is still in there then try again with both plugs. get it running and run it on the hose for like 15 min and get the motor hot (not super hot where you break things) then try and ride it tomm. pretty much rev it on the hose until it starts to not sound so :):):):)ty. the longer you flush, the better.

Thanks a ton! Only problem is that I need a new head gasket, because I took my head off to clean it, and the stock gasket isn't reusable. Should I flush it anyway, with the risk of water getting into the cylinders?

ummmmmmmm...... not too sure since im not a kawi guy but.... i would just slap it back together and try and get it running......you'll know if its not good cuz your pissers will start cutting out and it wont run right..... bottom line is you need to get it running asap in hopes that your crank bearings do not rust witch will be a problem later if one were to let go inside your motor....

can a kawi guy give a hand here?

Yeah, what he said. Get it running asap. I would put some sealant on that gasket and reuse it for now.
