wash patterns

Hey everyone I want to find out what to look for when looking at the wash on the piston heads, I had John Zigler (rock county jet ski) explain it to me but I'm a visual person and was wondering if anyone had so pictures they could show. I want to check this weekend to make sure that I'm not running to lean.

Does anyone think the good wash in the above picture is a touch to rich? I have talked to many about this and I was told to have wash about the size of your thumb nail.
