Wammer Trim...

I hear from alot of people that the newer generation trim system from wamiltons allows you to have good trim while maintaining hull to hull (or close) steering:barrel:, which wasnt possible with the older one.
Has anyone got any pics of theirs as i think i will put one on my new boat if i can have good steering for barrel rolls aswell as good trim.

Dan,

The problem has never been the nozzle's ability to move left to right but more the throw available in a stock cable and the distance from the nozzle pivot point to the ball joint/steering connector (the greater this distance the more cable travel/throw required)

ok, so the nozzle is capable of doing it, it is just getting the cable to work with it........
by the way, thats a wicked photo dude

Yes - correct, PM your email address and I'll send you a diagram of something I'm working on to solve this problem.

Thanks for the compliment on the photo - just wish I could roll now rather than stab all day!

Cheers,

Jim

I'd like to see that diagram too, is there anyway you can post it?

I'm working on an adapter let lets the steering cable remain low and keeps the steering ball joint on the same access as the trim ring centerline.

Yeah that's one of the issues - need to keep the ball joint at exactly the same height as the gimble ring pivot point - if you don't the nozzle turns when you pull the trim!

Here's what I'm working on to sort the cable travel issue..

wierd question, can u not weld the 2 together?,

LOL!... no Dan - the point of having one higher than the other and using the pivot system is it increases the amount of travel the cable makes on the nozzle part (the greater the height distance between where the cable enters and leaves the pivot the larger the movement but the lower the torque. Its like a gearbox to give more throw..
