Other Walbro Carb.

Well this is a new one on me. I just got a 1974 Kawasaki 400 from a guy and when I started to look at the engine when I got it home, I noticed that the carb looked a little funny. At a closer look I found out that it is a Walbro brand Carb. Never heard of them before, so I looked them up and come to find out they make alot of carbs for small things like lawn mowers and chain saws. Has anyone ever seen one on a jet ski before. I kinda would like to keep it on it, but I am having a hard time right now finding a rebuild kit for it.

I used to have one on a PJS side draft manifold (550 piston port cylinder). That carb tuned easy and it ripped way harder than the BN38. When the metal mesh air cleaner/arrester broke apart, I took it all apart...went to duals after that.
The major drawback of that carb was that it was designed for dry applications. Salt water corroded the hardware quickly. Ocean Pro used to carry re-build kits (back in the day).

Walbro carbs are used extensively on Stihl chainsaws. I would say try looking into any place that rents equipment like chainsaws, gas powered hole augers, lawn mowers, stump grinders...etc. They usually have a book from Walbro listing all the carbs and applications they were used on. You would either need to bring the carb in for them to get the number off of or just write down all the numbers as you see them so they can reference the carb and get you the right kit. Example: a Stihl chainsaw with a Walbro WT49 carb uses a K20WAT carb kit.

90% of your small engines use a Walbro carb.

could say wx957 on the base.
great carbs and easy to adjust.better than the 38 or 44 miks.
rebuild kits still available in snow country.decker racing and others.
