Wahoo, got the new carb on

lol, the problem is lack of spending time on it, I spent more time in the last 2 days then I have in 3 months, Work sucks but its decent money, especially when I am not pissing it away on jetski parts. Got the motor in this morning, just waiting on the battery to charge to see if it will fire.

I don't know, there are some weird database issues or something.

I got an e-mail notification of a new thread in Site Info, clicked the link and it took me to some random thread in For Sale. I had someone else pm me about getting a new pm notification and there wasn't a pm there.

I just ran some database cleanup, hopefully that straightens out any messed up indexes.

It looks like his post just disappeared http://www.x-h2o.com/search.php?do=finduser&u=742 and there is no placeholder for it being deleted. (we don't have permanent delete, only soft delete which leaves a placeholder we can see and a link to see the old post)

Crap, I just remembered our host was going to switch us to a new server at some point over the last week. I'll see if we got moved today and that might have messed up some stuff.

I'll make a thread in Site Info, but I'm guessing we did get moved since I can't login to the webserver control panel anymore.

Switched from dual 44's to a single 48 on my 62t 760, going to drop the motor in tomorrow during the day and see if it starts. :)

I went from 2 Full Rectum 48's on a Dominator manifold and VFII's to a single Novi 48 on the Riva setup w/my VFII's and I love it! I catch pure hell all the time about going to the single carb on a Lamey 830cc engine, but I am smart enuf to not go WOT all the time nor do I have a desire to go WOT all the time. I think for my app-the single rocks.(U can't make it load up-even after 10minutes of idle-it accelerates crisp and clean every time). Oh yeah, it's the newest Novi and Tim told me to tell him what jetting ended up working cuz he didn't know, it took me about 15 minutes to get it dialed in!!!

I got tired of the duals and decided one degree was enough, I dont want a second in tuning friggin carbs, I would rather ride in my free time! I ended up chaseing grimlins all after noon, 9 hours later I got it started!
Sounds pretty mean, I got it to idle on its own and decent throttle response.

As for supertune I saw he posted up but didnt get to read it, I figured one of the mods edited it out but I guess the server ate it :)

Hope to ride it soon but looks like work has other plans which is good I guess, that much closer to a new pole ;)

I can relate. I bought my Full Rectums used and I finally got them right about the time I sold em. At the time I went to the single I was a tuning rookie and didn't full understand a lean stumble. I installed the single and saw the light. I have been curious about dual carbs again not that my engine runs so freegin good, but why bother, it runs soo freegin good. LOL

Sometimes when you're replacing carbs, starting it takes a back seat to getting it to shut off! :highhorse:

Nothing like panic rev all on it's own. LOL After I re-did Cheryl's ski this winter, the primer sucks air at times and it revs to the moon w/plug wires off. Pull the trigger full throttle while hitting the kill switch has worked every time so far. LOL I guess my tight azz needs to buy her a new primer. Only problem is, it's alot more fun watching her go across the lake at 50ish mph trying to kill the engine and can't. LOL (NO-I have not told her how to shut it down w/this occurs yet) LOL

Im diggin the single carb. Rode from noon till 8:00 off an on this afternoon, tuned it by ear to start and adjusted the high and was ripping from the start. Plug hack says I am rich but it pulls pretty good. I think there is some to be had from the bottom end but top end seems pretty stout. I dont get much over half throttle but it seems at half throttle its pretty much full speed and scary fast. Running 40:1 for now.
