no jeff, the only relevance that the stinger fitting has to do with the pipe being called and "extractor" is that by the water being diverted away from all being dumped into the chamber, it keeps the majority of water from being dumped into the chamber, thereby letting the chamber maintain it's heat and nominal inside diameter for expansion area.
the heat maintained is important for the extractors effect on the engine because the extraction of exhaust from the combustion chambers relys on the reflex waves returning to the ports, when the chamber is cooled off too much with water, it slows down the speed of the return wave, also, water in the pipe decreases the chambers inside diameter, as well. so, by diverting the water away from being dumped into the chamber it allows the pipe to help the engine make more power.

I love what you do here....you take a point of view you were quite fond of a while back (extractor-stinger-water), turn it around to make others look ridiculous, and then you take the RIGHT theory and run with it as if you've always had it.
