Voltage regulator upgrade?

I just bought a new voltage regulator and a 4 wire stator. The stator has two brown, black/yellow, and a purple wire. The new voltage meter has two red wires, black/ground, and two brown wires. When hooking everything up... are my connections as follows:
Browns to browns,
Purple to red coil wire,
Red voltage regulator to orange starter wire
Black/yellow to black/ground (volatge regulator)
And leave one of the red wires from the voltage regulator unconnected to anything?

The start/stop wires orange to orange, white to white. Blue to red (starter solenoid) and black to black(starter solenoid)?

Mostly wondering what I do with the extra red wire on the voltage regulator. I can take a picture tomorrow evening if I need to.

The red stator wire goes to the red wire off the starter solenoid positive battery posts , the orange wire goes to the start switch usually yellow red or orange.

If the orange wire on the solenoid hooked to the red wire on the solenoid it would be engaged all the time.

In other words all the red wires stay together , with the exception of the one that goes to the coil -CDI there should be a red wire off the solenoid that hooks to a fuse then to the other red wires, red is system power on that system , black is system ground .
