Other Visually Inspect Pump....often

This is gonna make me seem like an idiot, but I'm used to that.

I've been having cavitation issues for quite a while. It turns out to be a combination of things....the most stupid follows.

Ya know how weeds will take away your power? Well, I guess a clear plastic bag will do the same thing.
After replacing mid-shaft bearings and seals, I still had water entering the engine compartment...(still under investigation).
But I layed under the trailer to get an eyeball on the pump etc... Looked good. Reached my hand up in there and got a handfull of plastic bag...It was strong! Had to loosen the intake grate and use a screwdriver to get it out.

I probably don't inspect it as well or as often as I should, but this bag was hardly visible .

So, check it out now and then.

i have replaced a seadoo wear ring all because of one plastic grocery bag. once it wound up it was like a rope and just heated and ground out a half inch gouge in it. plastic is no joke. plus you are just lucky!
