Vinyl wrap photos and opinions on durability

I'm seriously considering getting my ski completely wrapped in vinyl instead of painting it. It seems that most people believe that spending the money to paint a ski isn't really worth it because it won't last long before looking like crap. I'm just not willing to rattle can it. Too much work. I suck at painting anything besides the inside of a house.

Does anyone know how long a vinyl wrap would last? Somebody has to have had one for at least a season, how did it hold up?

It holds up great. It's not just sticker material, it's a bit thicker and has some sort of fiber reinforcement under it or something. Alot of sponsored King Mackeral fishing boats around here have their hulls wrapped. They hit the dock and all sorts of stuff. I mean, it will scuff or tear, but It's basically a giant sticker. There isn't much you can do :)

that boat was done by ian at http://areyoustuckup.com/

he is doing my ski for me and it will be able to be seen in daytona

I am not sure if Ian's are classified as wraps. They are just like any other vinyl graphics except that they have incredible color printing. They are large printed graphic sections that fit within the side of the hull. They are unbelieveable. I heard that he is going to be at Daytona demonstrating an installation on a ski. He is a true artist. See IHOP's build thread to see how incredible his turned out. It's unreal.

Ian does use wrap vinyl.. I just choose not to do the entire boat. The viny and inks used are rated for 5 years of constant sunlight.
here are pics of mine.

how much should it cost to vinyl a ski? I am currently building a ski and debating on painting it myself or have a pro do it. Vinyl graphics got me thinking now. You can more design in it.

I wanted to wrap my old sqaure in lepard.

The best price per sheet I have found is $70 for 2x4 sheet. I just wonder how many I need? Do need to account for extra to make the pattern repeat?
