V-Force III versus V-Force II

I heard that V-force II might be better than the V Force III. I'm looking at buying but can't decide. This is what I heard, the center petals don't seal very good and cause a sputtering taking off after idling for more than 4 seconds. I am putting on Blaster 701 with dual 44's.
The price is pretty much the same. What I don't understand is why do they keep offering the II if the III is superior.

Still Fat....
i have 2's in my SJ and 3's in her SXR
not a problem with either setup
but those dame petals are expensive to replace

I did like the Riva stuffers and Boynseen Reeds i had back in 02 on my SJ as well

In real strong motors you will pull out the center pedals of V2's. (Very High HP SJ motors and GPR's)
V3's have retention mechanisms on all 4 pedals ....we always glued the center pedal of V2's to the plastic for insurance.

V2's modified and glued are hard to beat by any reed cage.

i didnt like either. i had the 2's on my sj, and didnt notice a difference. went back to stock. my buddy had the 3's on his sxr and is back to stock now because they no longer seal (after half a season). both boats didnt get any more air, or pull any harder. big fat waste of 250 bucks IMO.

In a fully modified motor with 130-150+ hp you will notice difference

motorhead..how much of the pedal are you gluing down?

On a 130hp or so motor,i found the new 3 stage and old 2 stage boyeseen reeds to be complete junk in less than 10 tanks of fuel. so far the vf2s are holding up on the same motor,we will see for how long,i have found carbontechs on stock cages to flow pretty well and last seasons and still look like new

I've vforce 3 reeds for almost 2 years and last time I took them out (a month ago) they still looked great, and sealed fine.

I glue the center area of the center pedals. They are not retained other than the bolts on the outside. Put three bond in the groove on the cage or an epoxy. Just a little rention prevents the in/back flex that leads to a pulled center pedal. You can mount a new 2 in a very strong motor and almost garauntee a pulled pedal in no time without some for of retention. Remember I'm talking a good motor. Those who have pulled the center pedal know what I'm talking about or felt the get off as your motor stops in a nano second
