UPDATE:
Mason just celebrated his 1-year birthday on August 20th (11 days after this terrible accident). An immense thank you is in order to the IJSBA (International Jet Ski Boating Association www.IJSBA.com ) and it’s President Scott Frazier. A 10x20 Zach Waddle Freeride Booth space has been donated by the ISJBA to be located between the Blowsion Booth and Hydro Turf booth in the Performance Alley at this years World Finals in Lake Havasu, AZ October 4-12, 2008. http://www.ijsba.com/ijsba/index.cfm?s=wf2008&t=2008/wf/main.htm
This booth will feature Zach Waddle 's Pro Freeride Super Jet on display, large format print pictures of Zach, Libby, and Mason as well as the unveiling of a billet aluminum memorial plaque that will be permanently located at Zach’s favorite surf riding beach in Pacific City Oregon after World Finals. There will also be a scrapbook for those who would like to leave the little charger a written message or photograph. Contributions for Mason’s trust will be accepted at this booth as well. Many of the world’s top Pro Freeriders (Ross Champion, Pierre Maixent and more) will be in town all week to support Zach’s memory and Mason’s booth, as well as being active fans of the racing. Please feel free to stop by for an autograph and to share in the good vibe for Mason.

Crab- look whos talking Mr. building a ski while getting plates or pins in the leg.... All for little Mason. Little does the little man know how loved his dad was and how much support this little guy has.
Fearlessnuts- your so correct. What an awsome community everyone has rode into. Not only are they great riders but wear the heart on the sleeves and step up when need be. Awsome guys for sure.

This just in:

Last week I was contacted by long time race supporter Gene Navarro, and Dallas Finch, Manager of Style Night Club and Kokomo's. They wanted to put together some sort of fund raiser for Mason Waddel, infant son of Zach Waddle and his fiance' Libby Davis during World Finals. Many of you may recall Zach and Libby were cut down in their prime in a horrible accident last month in Oregon.

We bounced around several ideas, but a raffle was not really feasible as so many of the aftermarket pwc companies have already donated very generously. We considered a "Pit Wench" auction - where folks would volunteer their time and expertise during Novice and Expert days to assist and be at the disposal of rider's who would have "bought them" - sort of like a slave day...would be *very interesting if we could get someone like Dean Charrier, Tim Vaughn, Randy Jungworth, Lillian, Harry Klemm, or Bill O'Neal, or the like to wrench...what a wonderful way to give to a very worthy cause while teaching up and coming racers the value of having a top mechanic on hand. Suffice to say, we were just too short on time to do a really great job with this, so we're going to table that idea until next year.

I am, however, very proud of the final idea we came up with...a small, voluntary cover charge at Style Night Club will be collected on Friday, October 10th, starting right after Novice & Expert class awards - simple, and effective. We're also working on some drink specials, and 100% of the door proceeds will go directly to Mason's trust account.

So please join us Friday evening for a very worthy cause - and thanks once again to Dallas and Gene for pitching in - you guys rock!
