I use a 4" X 4" X 1/2 thick piece of plexiglass with a 1/4 hole drilled about 5/8 from the edge and centered.
Use a very thin coat of white grease around the deck of the chamber. Use a correct plug for the thread length.
Hold the dome in a vice clamped on the spark plug base with the dome at an angle and the hole in the plate close to the edge of the chamber and squish band.
I have a glass CC buret that I fill with 100% mineral spirits to fill from (you can use a cc measuring cup that holds about 50cc' and start with that amount and a nose syringe) use the syringe to fill chamber up to bottom of fill hole in the plate. Put remainder of fluid back in cup to see how much you used.
ok cool thanks guys! i wasnt sure if the you read the measurement with the spark plug in or out. what about measureing the depth or diameter? is there another way?
I use a custom made burette stand with a special dome holding fixture. The burette is the self leveling type so you just have to squeeze the bottle and it fills it to the top and automatically zeros it with great ease. If you need your domes measured or custom machined just send me a PM with your info.
