Unhooked gas tank strap, cant get it strapped back in

On my squarenose I needed some hand room so I unhooked the gastank strap (the side you can easily see.) when i went to hook it back up, it had come loose from the end I can't see!!! I have no manual, where does the end you cant see hook? and can I get it hooked back in without removing? does anyone have a diagram? help plz.....

The straps the same on both sides. Easiest way is to take the battery out and rehook it in.

Take the tank out and wire the straps to the hooks.

If you take the gas tank filler loose it will allow you to slide the tank forward a little which should help be able to see where to hook and reach back there w/o actually taking the tank out.

anyone got a diagram they could post? I think I have to remove the battery to get the tank forward? and the "gas tank filler" is that just the gas cap? just have no idea where the little hook is or i could fish for it....

I am referring to how it is on my RN, but it shouldn't really be any different. The gas tank filler I am referring to the tube that goes from the gas cap to the tank, it is hoseclamped on. Take that off then you can slide the tank forward w/o removing the battery, but not very far, but you don't need to, only enough to see where to reach and stick the hook back on.

To slide the tank forward on my SN you have to remove the battery box. To remove the gas tank on my SN you can do so w/out removing the battery box it's just super tight.
