Under my hood

So i was picking up my hood to sand it the other day, and i realized its fairly heavy. if i had pictures i would post them but my skis at a friends house. Can i take of whatever is under the stock 94 sj hood? its a system for the vents i guess? Could i take it all off underneath there and somehow mold the tubes over the vents that way i would reduce some weight?

Its fairly simple. remove the liner from the inside of the hood (the hardest part) then fill in the vent holes. Next mock up a new liner out of frp board or lay your own with fiberglass, cut holes in it for vent tubes and glue them in so they stick up beyond the liner once installed (helps prevent water intrusion). Cut you two breather holes in the back of the hood above where the liner will be, then glass in the liner and go ride. The the hood is alot lighter without the stock liner in it.
