uhhh yeah

so i was putting my flywheel back on and then noticed the crank wouldnt turn. when i pulled the head off i saw this. any idea how to get it out? i tried taking the cylinder off but that wont work, and the coupler just comes off. and the flywheel is too hard to turn.

You know that's no quite how the rope trick works, right? Can you push the piston down so that the rope gets loosened when it reaches the port? I'd check your rod when you get that rope clear - there's a good chance it got bent if that went through a whole cycle.

yeah i got it out. luckily it was just the very end of the rope that was frayed so it must of got sucked in by the exhaust port or somethin.

Check that rod! Measure how far the piston is from the top of the cylinder at TDC. Compare with the other cylinder.

Had that happen once, it feels wrong.

Now when I coil my rope in, I like to make sure the piston is above the port so this doesn't happen.

I would also use a nylon rope instead of polypropylene. That stuff flattens too easily.
