hey might be a stupid question but can you run a type 4 on a stock head with the stock pipe suport bracket? guess it doesnt matter though cause you're going to want a girdle anyway... thanks guyys
I second all of Officer Mike's questions. I just got my type 4 and heard it blows couplers a lot. Where do you align it to avoid that problem? The rubber dampeners seem to have a lot of flex... which in my mind means it shouldn't be too hard to align.
When I installed my pipe, I had to remove lots of material from the holes for the lord mounts to make it align properly. Just take your time and install it "dry", without the coupler. You may need to adjust the front bracket as well to make it fit. The idea is that the pipe shouldn't "fight" the lord mounts or the coupler in the default position. This will ensure long life of pipe, coupler and lord mounts.
I also did the JSS mods to manifold and stinger, really recommended.
I am happy with the pipe, ski pulls like a Mac...

Sweet. Thanks guys. I look forward to seeing how the pipe performs. I'll probably go for an ADA head after this summer. What did you guys do to the carb to get the most power? Special thanks to Officer Mike for starting this thread!!:beerchug:
Check out the Factory pipe installation instructions here:

Contains carb settings as well.
thanks for all the feedback. my pipe rubs the girdle acorn and the the one lord mount bracket bolt. not touching when the motor is off, but i can see the marks from vibration. ...
Same here. Greater head with the ADA bracket.I think a lot of these pipes do that. I use a smaller nut for the bolt and massaged the chamber for a little more clearance.
