i did the nose as part of the rails, then cut a second piece to cover the nose itself - i went up pretty high as i had to cover a large damaged area.

heat gun for sure... you should be able to do the entire nose with a single piece, take your time. Sometimes it helps me to have a second set of hands helping to hold the piece while I work it into place.

more like, cut about a 4" strip. dont forget the 'boop' for the bow eye area.

lay the boy eye boop in place first. while having someone hold one side, lay the other side in place, youll start at the top and fold down as you work your way to the stern. repeat on the other side while your friend grabs you a beer.

ok so then your saying glue the rail and the mat and heat as im applying? glue down the bow eye first then heat around one side to make it fit? then repeat for the other side? does the heat gun really make it that moldable? I mean it will turn a flat 4"piece into the curbe i need? for some reason its not making sense in my head but i guess if you say so ill give it a shot.

You'll be surprized just how pliable it becomes with just a little heat. You can over heat it so be careful.

i usually cut it as SFL said, put 3 coats of glue on the turf and 2 on the ski, waiting until dry between coats.

and like SFL said, start at the center bow eye, and work one side at a time. I usually lay it flat (top of rail) around the bow 1st, then heat it up to make the bend down the rail... basically laying it in one plain at a time... if that makes any sense.
