Turfing a SJ

I believe they discount everything except the B-Stock, as it's already discounted...

Depends..... some say the the 25mm is a little much due to most footholds can't accomodate that and a decent size foot. So you end up grinding down to make footprints where your foot goes... Seems like double layer 8mm might be the better route and only do a little grinding if needed.

Depends on preference and if you really go that big. Keep in mind HT sells half sheets or enough to do just the tray on the underpadding. A full sheet is a little much for one ski, half sheet should do with a little extra to do the tray rails and foothold tops.

You will need 1 full sheet to do a super jet. That is dash, rails, tray and in the foot holds. You will have some left over, but a half sheet will not be enough!!

Re-read homie....... he was asking about the underpad, not turf itself. :haha:

so is a full sheet enought to do a ski with footholds and the railcaps and the rub rail?

I don't think so, definitely not the bond line at least..... put it this way, unless you're SFL and have mastered turfing your going to need the extra.

It seems to me that the way everything lays out, your not going to get everything symetrical using one sheet. i.e. diamonds going all the correct way. <> = good, ^V = not good.

Does anyone know if a half sheet will be enouhg to do: rails, chinpad, and repair footholds turf job (tops, and deep in the toe area)?

I'm guessing it will, just wanted to have longer strips along the rails.

What are the dimensions of the half sheet?

You can have them cut a full sheet in half...any direction.

1/2 sheet will be pushing it for what you want Id say.

Brian, I went with the regular 8mm padding, aaron has the thick stuff and I really like it. He cut it out where your feet go but It'd be much better if he left it, its very comfy, and itll 'squish' over time and be fine. so do the thick stuff, or double up the 8mm for a total of 16mm

If you got a precut kit, it should come with the extra underpadding.

Lots of Lake Norman area riders here recently. Somebody must be spreading the standup word

Yea alot of people are starting to ride including me:Banane01: . Would a pre-cut kit be good for a begginner. I am only riding on flatwater, for the time being. I can't do many tricks, still matering a sharp turn, lol. I am just wondering if pre-cut would work, I know the B stuff is cheap but it is alot more work and I am a newbie.

I've read about how much time people spend getting a sheet of turf on there ski. I dont have that kind of time or the will to do it. I bought a kit.

:bling: There are a couple of tricks when turfing but it all boils down to taking your time to do it right. Last boat I turfed took me about 6-8 hours.
