Boys,

Can someone give a newbie some pointers on how to turf my nose, tail, and side gunwales on a 95 SN SJ? The tray is not so bad, but I'm needing some help with bumper areas. :baby:

Heat helps form the turf to the shapes you need.

yup... heat gun and rubber mallot. and put two coats of contact cement on the ski and three coats on the turf... let dry between coats. Use the heat gun to make the turf plyable (not too hot though) and use the mallot to pound out air bubble and to make sure you get a good fit.

Just coat the sucker a couple times and then heat, lay and cut? I'll give it a shot. Do you measure and try to precut your pieces before putting the cement on or just lay the sheet on the top edge and cut it away?

i precut the pieces, but about an inch wider and longer than i need... then trim after. when doing the rails, start from top and work toward the bottom... then you can trim with a razor.. trim at an angle not square, that will help to stop the water from catching on it.
