I tried about every different combination this last weekend and came to the conclusion that the best setting is whatever... just having a pipe seemed to be the biggest thing... the screw setting I could not tell almost ANY difference between the different settings... I tried about 6 widely different combinations with almost no difference in performance... then just set it at what someone recommended on here just for the heck of it and left it there....

Keep in mind my pipe seemed to be running cool as the water was in the low 50s.... maybe that had something to do with it? Dont see what that would really do though.... I tried using a smaller restrictor to heat it up, but after I was done riding that day I figured all I did was make my FCV open up sooner and spit the water into the waterbox instead of out the pisser... I need to put a restrictor after the FCV as well... but I dont think any of this would have changed the way I did not feel any difference in the screw settings... I just dont think those screws make a huge change...

I tried the same thing, and ended up with the same results..................although I did not go 2.5 turns on the top:bigeyes:

You also cant tune when the water is colder than when you normally ride. Your suppose to tune the pipe so it runs barely hot to the touch ( can touch it for a few seconds) but if the water is too cold it will make it run different than when the water warms up. I would wait till it gets close to the average riding conditions.

Mine is set up just the opposite. I have dual cooling as well:
top-closed
middle- open 1/4 turn
bottom- closed

Mine hits pretty hard and stays cool.

i run a stinger restrictor in my one ski and bought a Jet Works adjustable flow control valve for my new ski... anyone run both together?

If I keep my current cooling setup I am going to do that prob... I will know for sure after I get off the phone with someone this morning hopefully...

thanks guys
superslug will give your setup a go, you say run a restrictor before the stinger and set
the stinger is the end of the pipe yeah ? and the set ?

haha yes run a flow control valve right befor that metal tube on the pipe in the cooling line
or you can use a 135 main jet and just clamp that down

but as in set i mean your good to go sorry

Same thing here, on an SXR. I was trying it in cold water, 45 deg last year, and could not tell a difference. I waited till the water warmed up and set it there. Mine is currently and BTM 1/2, Top 1/2, Mid closed.

I can vouch for these settings. I/we have tried similar settings on an SJ, blaster, and SXR and they seemed to hit the hardest with the top WAY out.

Have to give this a try next time I am out. I never went more than
1 turn out on top, and the rest closed. I originally tried 1/2 out on bottom
and the other's closed but did not really see a difference between bottom
open and top open.

Thanks.
