650/X-2 Trying to restore 89 650sx-keihin cdk issues

Hi all. I am trying to get this old ski running. I’ve put in a carb rebuild kit, and ordered a new carb gasket, too...Carb is a Keihin CDK (no fuel pump). I can’t tell if the gasket is the wrong size, though! The company claims it’s for a 28mm, but is this how it should sit (pics attached)? The hole It’s bigger than the mouth of the carb and the manifold port. Any knowledge would be appreciated.

That gasket is for a CDK2. Find a manifold from a 1991-1995 650 and a carb from a 91-93 650sx. The X2 version throttle cable pulls from the top and will work with the X2 flame arrestor.

The best way I have found to fix up those old keihen carbs is by installing fresh mikuni rebuild kits into a mikuni carb.

Not helpful, but I couldn't resist.

Overall, the stock 91-95 intake, carb, and F/A is hard to beat in that application.
