Troubleshooting problems for 1986 Kawasaki JS550

I bought a JS550 that sat for 2 years I then buy it and the solenoid was fried so I put a new one in. I put a new battery inside it and it turns over just fine but it won’t start. I cleaned the carburetor and the fuel filter and it still won’t start. I then put gas inside the carburetor manually and it started then shut right off. I would really like to know what’s wrong and then I would really like carb specs for minuki carb

Ok, since it will fire when you pour gas down the carb, you have a fuel related problem. Could be a carb issue still, (not rebuilt or assembled correctly.) fuel select switch, fuel pick ups, fuel filter, and so on.

Check your fuel tank vent, tank pick up gasket, and tank pick up tubes. Clean the fuel filter / water separator.
