So I had a thread talking about a fuel filter and whether or not I needed to keep one on there. Well moved pass that and just went and bought another one from auto zone. Well now the ski is just giving such headache. It will crank and crank and really on way it will fire is if I throttle to about 50%. Once it starts, if I give it more throttle it just bogs out. Well I think I am pretty mechanically inclined, so I figured it something with the carb. Could be not enough or too much and just bogs out. So i go to adjust the low side and high side carb pins and both had been tightened all the way down. I was happy because I figured that would have been an easy fix. Well I adjusted them out some to see how it would react, and it fired up and ran somewhat decent but I let off the throttle and it dies. So I adjusted the idle and it still won't hold an idle speed. I figured at this point of fighting with it I would just accept the fact that I would always have to give it a little throttle to stay running and move on. So I patch everything up and go to fire it up again to make sure everything is still working. Now it won't fire again and just keeps cranking!! I take a look and really the only thing I changed was I put the flame arrestor back on the carb. So I took that off and try to fire it up. It somewhat did and ran kind of rough, but seems that I am having to fight with it way to much just to keep it running.
Any thoughts of what in the world I could be missing? I looked in the Flame Arrestor and its clear so that's not clogged. I checked the fuel and it's getting fuel. I checked the spark and both plugs striking good.
I am just lost on what in the world could be wrong.
Also, I notice that when the flame arrestor is off it's almost spitting out fuel (I hope lol) from the carb flap.
Oh and when the starter is turning it over, it seems to crank hard then it goes from cranking hard to just free spinning. Is that normal?
Any help or direction would be most appreciated.
