All the skis come from the same mold. I know the squares tend to sag a bit by the pole area but not a round. My 24-7 hood bolts up fine with no modification. As well as all the others I have seen... must be luck i guess. Blah im done bickering... have fun with your blowsion parts.

OK very very frustrating I am trying to line up my hood and get it dialed in. The guys at the paint shop damaged my jss hood gasket and I received my new one today so I put it on and then began to line up my blowsion brewtus hood. NOT HAPPENIN. I also have the blowsion hood hooks. IT seems that the hood is not allowed to come far enough forward Ive adjusted the hooks as far forward as they go I can get everything on and the hood latch, latched but its very very loose and there is a huge gap on the sides of the hood that would let tons of water into the hull. Its like the hood needs to come like a 1/4 inch forward........FRUSTRATED any help would be appreciated maybe im just overlooking something minor.

Ok, maybe I can help........ which JSS hood gasket did you get, the Tall one or the Short one???

I have had them both, the shorter one works the best (I do not support using the JSS Hood gasket system at all......... But, that is my opinion). The taller one will not let you hood seat when you slit the hooks in, the rear of the hood will not close......... you have to put some washer under the hooks that mount to your hull...............

This will take the pressure off your hooks......... from your pic, it looks like it is doing this, lots of hood seal showing on the front..........

hmmmm im not sure which one I have Its the newer one....if that helps any. But I dont really think thats the problem I hope it is. but the main issue is that with where everything lines up it doesnt let the hood sit far enough forward. I cant imagine a stock gasket would let it move forward anymore when the hooks are stopping it. Also I tried the washer thing that didnt work either.. :( Oh also with the hooks there is literally ZERO pressure on the hooks its like I need to redrill the holes on the hood so that the hood brackets sit higher up to apply downward pressure. But what sucks about that is when I do that there will be a nice big EXPOSED open hole in the hood that I will have to fill will epoxy or silicone or SOMETHING as to prevent water intake.

if it not the gasket, then dont know........... It could be that your holes on your hood were off a smidgent, and the hood hook holes are off a smidgen the other way........ dotn know, try your stock hooks and see how it lines up.

Ok, what is the excuse for kenny keepers then? That is a cnc product. it would be very easy to modify it in production so you dont have to grind half of it off when installing. I am a firm belever in haveing to tweak some things to a certain extent when installing, but some of their stuff is just rediculous. put a 24-7 hood next to a blowsion hood and tell me which is better.

I just installed Keepers...no grinding. What'd I miss? What's this "hitting the case bolts"? They were a true bolt-on part for me. I fail to see how it couldn't be.
Are you using OEM motor mounts? Is your engine aligned properly?

Ya IM ok with doing some minor tweeking here in there to get parts to fit but its very frustrating since after all said and dont I think ive spent a TON on buying parts from them to have something so far off you cant even latch the hood and whats even worse is every single part from them seems to be like this. Kind of wish I would of looked into it further and purchased the stuff from some where else. But what can ya do I guess little learning experience I guess.

Actually...I've ordered stuff from a few companies, and in my experience, only stuff from Blowsion and XMW has fit very well without modification.

No hood kit, for sure. Footholds, turf kits, misc bolt on parts, Kenney Keepers, steering turnplate, and probably several hundreds of bucks of other parts I can't think of.
XMW: Pole, pole bracket (EXCELLENT fit!), and steering.

Understood ! Just remember that our sport would be nothing without these companies making parts and puting that money right back into the sport.. I see your frustration, I think you should take it up with them and all should have respect for these guys ! Just asking for respect for them !
As well as you should not have so much problems... give them a shout, they would love to help !

Props to Pete! Best Admin response I have seen.

ive worked in mass production, and smaller quantity production.

thats not the issue here, the issue is quality control.

if the factory can make a zillion hoods that all interchange, why cant the aftermarket?

that was my point
, it's not a complex part. and i know that yamaha does not have a parts bin of multiple reach hooks . what this piece costs i would expect it to fit no matter if it was made by waterdawg, blowsion, 24/7 wamilton or whoever.

i hope thatis all it was poor quality control and they just give junkman a new set, but i have heard of this going on with other people as well. so i guess my point is that it's just a bummer thats all. But from what i know of and have seen i am sure blowsion will try and rectify this

If your stock hood hooks are off also, then it is the hood gasket, JSS even tells you that you have to bend them a bit for the hood to mount correctly....... with AM hooks, the tolarance is much less than the OEM's, they are designed to hold the hood even tighter........

This is all from personal experience...............

OH, on an FX 1, you cannot even use the front latch assembly with the JSS Gasket.......... just ask JMeadlock, I painted his FX last year and had to get a custom made bracket made for his ski.

but the crazy part about that is that its soo loose it would make sense if the hood latched into the hooks tightly but it does not.
