For those seeking a short and sweet: Purchased TPE 964 used. P&P built and tuned my ski right. The TPE 964 opened up my potential for sure.

I was fortunate enough to find a used like new 964 at the beginning of this season (top end new w/ rebuilt crank). Shortly after I decided to give the motor and my ski to @Philip Clemmons of P&P to completely gut and rebuild. I wanted to ride this whole season before opening my mouth.

I picked up my ski ready to ride at a local river. I knew P&P would do the boat right. It's a hard decision to spend some serious $$$ to have someone build a ski for you. I could have saved that money for some hookers and blackjack or whatever it is cool people spend money on. But I was 100% impressed with the work. (There are some photos with a before and after on his facebook page) New scupper, new bolts everywhere, pole cut shorter, wiring done very neat, shifty mod installed, some touchups on the hull, fixed my external fuel pump mount, and tuned the entire package. Total Loss, Carbs, and pump all tuned for this specific package. I have not touched my carbs since I picked up my ski. I don't know what jets I run. I don't know what my screws are at. I don't know what my total loss curve is. I don't know because I haven't had to troubleshoot anything that serious. I had a clogged fuel filter and an issue with my gas tank banging my pickup wires. You learn real quick with the RAD TL setup to protect those wires. Those were the only two issues I had the entire season. It sucks wrenching on the water. I'm glad I haven't had to wrench much at all this year.

I came off a Dasa 850 onto the TPE 964. Honestly, when I first rode the 964, I wasn't that impressed. Phil was a bit disheartened because I didn't have a smile on my face. I didn't know what I had. I was riding it like my 850. Phil knew I wanted to throw down on some flatwater. He set it up the right way. I had my 850 setup all low end. Not so on the 964. It was a sneaker on me. I adjusted my riding and started to find out this thing pulls through the entire RPM range. I got a clean double flip on the first try. I was so stoked at that point. I am completely happy I jumped on that 'used' 964. Stock stroke 964, it's all you really need. The price is right & the power is right.

Next project will be footholds.

Some footage during Halloween.

And the captain flip.

Congrats on the double daryl! You can definitely tell you are carrying 2 or 3 times more speed into your setup
