Towing ski behind boat?

Ok my original reason for starting this thread was i thought the water passing through the pump would cause the impeller to turn the engine over. Being a two stroke there is no lub. Any thoughts on this?

Don't think the water pressure will turn the motor over, however, I sank a ski and and ran the batt about dead on the beach pumping water out. While being towed back at 20-30 mph, I hit the start button and it cranked and fired. The water pressure definately has resistance and being towd gave me a little bit of a bump start.

SFL, what are you running?

Several guys in our group have motors that fill while being towed (me included). We all have various cooling, dual and single, and a couple of us have the FC valves, most with b-pipes.
My solution to this was to not tow my ski.

That would be cool..... then we could tow start them.....NO JUMPPER CABLES!

I would clamp the line between the head and Bpipe header-pipe. But thats the way mine is setup.

There was another thread like this a couple years ago. I think I recall Matt and Nick collectively figuring out that a certain setup was better for the purpose of towing, because it wouldn't flood the ski.

Unfortunately, I remember zero of the details.

DO A SEARCH!
