How do you guys tie tow loop knots for the front bow eye? I'm sitting here trying to figure out the best way to tie a loop of rope to use as a tow loop for the wives 550. Pics would be great too. Thanks

i know squat about knots, but I would take the one end go thru the bow eye, then join them and tie both in a knot together( one knot both ends). this will only tighten harder the more it is pulled. hopefully that is a square knot. crap now I have to research knots!

It would look ugly and it's not a square knot... I forgot the name for the knot you are describing, but it's mostly used to sew a button with a needle.

The square knot is one of the basic knots, look it up, it's pretty simple and done in about half a second with your eyes closed.

I used an old ski rope. I opened up the cross stitching of the rope and put one end of the rope inside the other end. After you have a few inches of coverage, pull the loop tight. The tighter it gets, the tighter the connection for the loop is.
