SX/SXi/SXi Pro Tough decision.

Hi I'm new to this website and i just got into jet skiing and bought a 2000 750 sxi pro at a spur of a moment decision for $1700 and have been riding it a lot and i want to get into freestyle. The jet ski is mint and has no mods. My dad says that it would be best to keep it stock for resale because i want to put foot holds in it and make it my own. i want a jet ski that will kick out of the water and was wondering if it would be best to get a older one so that it doesn't hurt the value or if it would be best to use what i've got and mod it completely and if so what kind of mods could i do to make it pop out of the water.

To tell you the truth, most of us have WAY more invested in this sport than $1700 and are not concerned with resale value (for the most part). That ski is going to loose value, no way around that. And, you might not get back what you put in, but if what you put into it makes it that much more enjoyable. That makes it worth it.

What do you mean by pop out of the water.. a modded superjet will give you good power to do some good tricks, but if you are looking a world compitetion videos on youtube and want to back flip ski keel in mind those guys are running shorter/ carbon hulls with 1000 cc motors to make them pop on flatwater.

Look up stroker motors on here to see all the mods done to a stock 701cc motor to bump it up into the 800cc range check out jetworks performance, xmetal works and look at the motors they build and the specs on them.

The Kawi 750s are not the best freestyle platform both hull-wise and motor wise. People say "buy a superjet" for a reason. The 701s have MUCH more low end hit than the 750s. Plus the SJs are lighter. I'd enjoy the 750 the way it is and keep your eyes open for an SJ to buy. I wouldn't throw money into a 750 to try to make it a freestlyle machine, if I were you. Been there, done that.

impeller, aquavain intake grate & ride plate, do steering also.. Then, factory pipe & rejet carbs.. All that will help quite a bit with holeshot and you can always put all the stock stuff back on if ya want to sell it later, but genereally they depriciate and are known as a moneypit for a reason.. Just some background, I let Harrison ride my RN SJ in the picture with a 701 Waterdawg footholds, B Pipe, 3" Cutback, 9/15 Hooker, ADA Head with 175PSI, and a -2" pole. Most of you know how a hull like that would ride, and other than purchasing a SJ, what could he do to get a similar ride. I know nothing about Kawi's and could not point him in a better direction then these forums.

Welcome to the X Harrsion
