Toshiba lap top for $300, worth it ?

A guy I know is selling off his stuff as he's going back to Brazil in a few months.
One of the items is a Toshiba Satellite L355D-S7901 lap top that is barely 4 months old and looks brand new.
He's asking $300 for it and I was wondering if it's a decent deal ??

He also has some parts for a desktop that he was in the process of building and I'm waiting for a list of what's there.

Man PC lap tops are so cheap now days, plus after 6 months the newer ones are so improved.

My next computer will be a imac, no more PC's for personal use.

They seem to sell for $400-$500 used.

Its on 24/7 with heavy ''architecture drafting '' use not just email not so much as a flicker and never a glitch in 4 years even after she dropped it , just had to replace the battery ! Apple/mac rules all computers ...IMO .

Thats what I'm talking about!!!!!!!!!!! My PC's always have some problem, running slow, etc... Plus I want to do more video editing with the HD go pro's & the imac is the way to go.

Personally I don't care for any "iproducts" and this laptop would never be used for any heavy 3D design work.

Just thinking that if it's a decent deal I might get it to use and abuse at work. You know, watch some jetski videos while watching over the monkeys.

Boris that is a decent deal... it is a bit big/heavy for a laptop but if you do not need portability you should be good.

I'll most likely just pitch it into the van and that's where it'll stay for most of it's life. So yeah, doesn't need to be that portable.

I just hope that the Toshiba isn't a ticking time bomb or an extra special abortion that should be avoided at all cost.
