Torn crankshaft oil seal?

I pulled my flywheel today on my 97' SJ to check my timing setting/stator and found a potential problem. First, there was a little oily liquid in the area below the flywheel. Second, the crankshaft oil seal behind the stator coil is starting to tear under the shaft.

Is the oily liquid from the crankshaft seal leaking? Is this going to be a big problem shortly. What should I do, replace the seal immediately?

yes, replace the seal, also replace the rear 2 seals while it's aparts, will be much cheaper than a crank!!!!

i'd buy OEM, any yamaha dealer should be able to get them for ya, if you got a dealer local it'll save you shipping

4 seasons with the premium WSM Seals on a TLR Ported Motor.

Maybe it wasn't a bad spark, but an airleak?

I guess I should have said no spark not just bad spark. Confirmed bad enhancer and damaged pulser coil so will be replacing that also.
