I have been studying the SN hood and comparing it to my 750sx hood
that keeps out water
750sx hood intake at rear, also allows water to drain

SN hood only drains to the front
so after a stab
the hood is full of water and the nose is up in the air

thats what i am looking to do. I had to cut the housing for the hose that usually sits behind the carb after switching to a 62t motor swap. now that water dumps onto the carb making it bog really nice after a stab. I am looking to do the same thing your looking to do with smaller diameter pipe. Looking forward to what you come up with.

Interesting idea. I have been trying to figure out something to do with my hood mid season as well. Let us know how it works!

This how the first squares were done for freestyle before any aftermarket hood was made for the SN or before anybody put in a new homade liner. Rick Roy was doing this to his SN in the early/mid 90's.

need to find a way to seal the 1/4 of the pipe that goes
inside the hood seal

When I did this to my SN before a complete liner I used smaller PVC so it fit inside the hood.

i did mine today, this is how i did it.

every thing fitted really nicely. I could have skipped on the glue probably if I wanted to. next is to fill the holes in the front of hood instead of duct tape, and drill 2 holes for pool hose in the middle. Should end up working pretty good.

the hose that comes down between the tank and the motor. i will probably drill 2 holes for 2 more hoses and cross them with a zip tie or something. i don't like the stock hoses or the way they made the hood breathe.

torpedo, now that you cut the liner away from where it sits on the seal, youre going to take in air right from there.... water too.

d_x, is that 2 lengths of 1" pipe? that might be a little too restrictive.
