Slutty hood mod, replacing the stock liner to allow less water to get in. Giant PITA

It's not that bad. With a roudie you glass over teh front intake holes. And widen the rear ones into traingles. Then you pull the old liner and make a mold out of cardboard and tape. Lay the glass, pul the liner, and re-install. Then you add raised pool hoes so if any water makes it in your intake holes in the back, the raised hoses don't allow it to get into the engine bay. You can knock it out in a night.
