Super Jet To D cut or not to D cut?

Can't go wrong D cutting. I went 3" deep and corner to corner on the flat bottom part. Worked great for me and my kid. If you want to experiment, pick up a used SN plate for around $40 shipped, take it to a machine shop for the cut $30 ish and try it out. Highly doubt you won't like it, it's a whole new world of fun.

Wondering if I should go ahead and D cut my ride plate.

Any info would be great and ride reports are always good.

Consider your height, weight, and pole length. Removing material from the rear is most beneficial when these are smaller.

I cut the stock ride plate on my SN and I love it. It definitely helps get the ski out of the water for riding flatwater. The only thing I didn't like was going full speed since it made it slightly less stable, but usually if you D-cut it you aren't worried about top speed stability for an extended period of time.

The cut plate will help you have more fun with your current pole length. I think my old RN before shortening the hull, I was running a -8 pole (overall between shortened turn plate and cut pole) (this measurement is taken from the center of the pole bracket bolt to the center of the turn plate pivot bolt.) with the 3" deep cut and it was pretty sweet and I'm a short bastard at 5'8" and 160 lbs. It was much easier to throw the ski around a bit more and put me in a better position overall for flatwater stuff. Loved it..

My ski came with an A.M. ride plate and I couldn't make up my mind, So I picked up a stock ride plate off Ebay d-cut it and its been on my ski ever since. Sold the A.M. about a month later.
