i have just received my advent t3 ignition for my 97 s/j
i want to get it installed a.s.a.p but first i would like to find out abit more on how it actually works. The mods i have for my ski are f/b-pipe, riva head 195ish psi on 93 octane, 760 bore, stock lightened flywheel, stock carbs, v force 2 delta reeds.
i want to get the best out of it from low to mid range and retard a bit up top for now. This is what the curve is now
Any info welcome on how to adjust the curve to suit my needs and with this preset setting how will my ski perform.
Also on the back of the part there are three sets of numbered switches, these are all set down i.e. of, is this correct and what are these for??

No, that's not right with all the switches set to off!
The 1st and 2nd bank of switches (6 switches) are for setting the water injection solenoids.
If not used, leave all of them in the off settings.
The 3rd bank of switches (7 switches) are for the rev limiter settings. Advents come with a base of 6400 RPM's pre-programmed in the CDI and the switches 1 through 5 add rpms to the base RPM's.
Switch #1 turned on, adds 1600 rpm's, this now makes it at 8000 RPM rev limit.
#2 switch adds half of #1 switch= 800 Rpm's, so if you have the # 1 and # 2 switch on, with #3,#4, and #5 off ='s 8800 RPM's.
The add on switches are as follows...
#1. adds 1600 rpms
#2 adds 800 rpms
#3 adds 400 rpms
#4 adds 200 rpms
#5 adds 100 rpms.
Switches #6 and #7 are for programming what # curve set you want to run.
Advents have 4 sets programmed in them. (you need to know what model box you have that dictates which set of curves you have in the cdi)
With switches 6 and 7 set at off, off, this is curve set #1
with it set at off, on, this would be #2 curve set,
on, off is #3, and on, on is for curve set #4.
Call Advent and find out what curves set is programmed in your box with the model # and then figure out what # curve set you want to run.

Thanks Supertune
I did get instructions with the part but it was just a bit tricky getting my head round it as i am just picking it up as i go along, your post makes it alot easier to understand.
The part i have is d23 which when i go onto the Advent site gives me the curve which i have posted above.
Can you tell me what a superjet revs out at in stock form so as i know how much to retard on top to keep things kinda safe?
Thanks again.

Fitted my advent into electrical box, the only problem i have is that there is one pink wire left coming out of the advent with no were to connect to (that i can see).
Is this wire in here for another purpose, i cant see anthing in the instructions relating to this?

Our home is girt by sea
I would even run it on a wet pipe race boat with too much compression.

A versatile curve.
