Timesert woes

Hey Guys,

The last time that i torqued up my cylinder head, one of the studs that already has a timesert fitted only managed 16 N,M before it started to slip.

What are my options?

I had only just had it rebored and i also gave it the sport port treatment so it would be gutting if i have to give it the chuck!

It has been sound all season, although that cylinder is about 4 psi down now , i now would like to fit a A/M cylinder head plus a 46mm carb. Has any one tried taking them out to M10? Or am i proper fooked?

If the timesert stripped in the cylinder is there enough room for a bigsert ?

edit: you may want to verify bigserts repair stripped timesert width holes not just "holes that were repaired by helicoil, perma-coil,
uni-coil, recoil or any other simular coil style insert that has failed."

had to chop off part of 1 of them but it held

Am liking the bigsert idea, i can get trade discount on wurth stuff to soften the blow. Have emailed my query to them.

If it is jacked up, sometimes you just do what you gotta do to fix it.
