Time Sert 64u (760) or 62t (701) cylinder to 61X manifold

For those that want to use a 61X Factory B pipe or any other 61X exhaust on a 760 (64U) or 701 (62T) cylinder Time Sert is the ticket. The 62T or 64U cylinders use 10mm x 1.25 thread bolts. The 61X uses 8mm x 1.25 bolts so the exhaust manifold holes are smaller on the 61X.
The 8mm 1.25 time serts thread directly into the 10mm 1.25 bolt holes. You do need to use the counter sink tool to drill out the edges of the bolt holes. Use the insert tool to lock in the tine serts.

I bought the kit and stainless steel inserts from Amazon. I went with the shorter inserts (11.7mm). The bolt holes have around 20mm of depth, next time I do this I will go with the longer inserts (16.2mm).

Time-serts work great. Be careful using stainless steel inserts with stainless bolts. You'll need a good oil or anti-seize compound, otherwise they can gall together and get locked in place. If you ride in fresh water, steel inserts with waterproof grease to prevent rust is preferred. I've been using steel inserts for years without a single issue.

On length, thread engagement is typically only about 1.5x shank width, so an 8mm bolt only needs a 12mm insert. Anything more and your bolt won't know the difference. 11.7mm is perfectly acceptable for this application.
