Freestyle Tightening a handle pole?

I have seen people with jetskis and they have a tight pole and you can put it in one spot and It will stay there for no handed tricks.. Do you just tighten the pole bolts or do you need to do it a certain way? I'm afraid to tighten it And then the pole cracks

Most people who tighten their poles are running at least an aftermarket bracket. Many of the cast brackets can't hold up to the torque put on them. What kind of ski are your riding?

I forgot!
when you turn the poly bushing around and install them from the inside you can replace the outside of the pole bracket with metal washers and then you get metal to metal contact. very low torque and its tight without any major stress on the cast bracket.

One word of caution with that... If you do this, you need to keep checking your bushings to make sure they are still in the pole and haven't wiggled out of the hole. In the standard configuration, they are pinned and can't go anywhere.

you glue or adhere them in there. if they indeed fit in backwards. i just grind mine down flush but most people don't like hacking good parts. they been in there for years. you just need them so there is no slop from pole to the bolt.

mine are in backward as well because there isnt any room for them to be on the outside with the 615 bracket. i put two hose clamps in between the poly bushings to keep them from sliding inward. and yes i have had one slide inward.

i figured i was the only one with my bushings reversed
