Throttle hitting chin pad

Hey, recently installed a -2" turn plate on my 08 sj but now when turning to the left, the throttle cable coming out of the throttle is running into the OEM chin pad before hitting the stop.

Is this common when installing a shortened turn plate? Is the common fix to cut the chin pad to add clearance?

One more question, what is a good am chin pad that isn't too expensive?

cut a notch in the chinpad... don't hog out too much because it gets weak. I am still running my stock chinpad that I re-covered.

Had the same problem, cut a notch in my OEM pad (pan, minus the padding and cover) and put turf over the plastic.

That's the way to go.
